Statement of Faith:
The Godhead (Trinity):
There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Spirit. Deut. 6:4, Matt. 28:19
The Father:
The first person of the Godhead orders and directs all things according to His own purpose and pleasure. He authored, created, and sustains all things in the universe without any means other than His own pure power. By His grace, He involves Himself in the affairs of men, hears and answers prayer, and saves from sin and death all that come to Him through Jesus Christ. Mat. 6:9, Eph. 1:3, Joh. 5:19
The Lord Jesus Christ:
He existed eternally as the second person of the Godhead. By His virgin birth He came to earth as fully God and fully man, living a sinless life. His death on the cross made atonement for man's sin, evidenced by His bodily resurrection from the dead. He physically ascended to the right hand of God the Father, and He will return in power and glory. Joh. 1:14, Col. 2:9, Act. 2:33
The Holy Spirit:
The third person of the Godhead convicts men of sin, regenerates, baptizes, indwells, instructs, and sets apart believers unto a holy life. We encourage all believers to seek a life of obedience to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We believe this step is essential for empowering believers for victorious living and ministry through the gifts given by the Holy Spirit. Tit. 3:5, Act. 1:8, 1 Cor. 3:16
The Bible:
The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the complete, inerrant in the original manuscripts, divinely inspired, infallible Word of God. The Bible is the supreme authority and guide for our Christian faith and living. 2 Pet. 1:20, Heb. 4:12
The Nature of Mankind:
Mankind was directly created in God's image, voluntarily fell into sin by personal disobedience to the will of God; consequently, all people are spiritually dead apart from Jesus Christ. The fall of humanity was a once-for-all historical fact. Its effect spread to all men, each of whom is born with a sinful nature and is in need of salvation. Eph. 2:1, Rom. 3:10, Rom. 3:23-24
The Necessity of Salvation:
Salvation (Justification) is by grace, a gift of God apart from works. Salvation (Justification) includes repentance, a turning from one's own way to God's way. All who receive Jesus Christ are born-again, regenerated by the Holy Spirit, and become the children of God. Our relationship with Christ is secure not by our actions but by the sustaining power and love of God. A changed life follows the work of God in a person’s Salvation (Justification). Tit. 2:11, 1 Joh. 1:9, 1 Pet. 2:2
The Church:
The church is the body of believers consisting of all born-again persons without respect to race, culture, age or background. Directed by Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, the church is taking the good news of salvation to the whole world. Our fellowship is inclusive rather than exclusive and stresses love for God and one another, the unity of all believers, and obedience to the Holy Spirit. Eph. 2:19-21, Eph. 3:10
About Eternity:
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. Joh. 3:16; 14:17; Rom. 6:23; 8:17-18; Rev.20:15; 1 Cor. 2:7-9
Christian Living Agreement:
As a ministry of the corporate Church globally, TTI’s reason for existence is derived from the teachings of the Bible, including the Bible’s high moral and ethical standards. Accordingly, as its sincerely held religious belief, TTI believes that the individuals who subscribe to TTI’s Statement of Faith shall also believe, adhere, and be subject to living a Christian lifestyle, which TTI believes should be carried out as follows:
Bible as Supreme Authority:
The Bible is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living (2 Tim. 3:16) and it is TTI’s primary and final source of authority. Accordingly, I hold fast to the Holy Scriptures related to conduct as expressed in many passages, including Romans 12:1-2, I Corinthians 6:9-10, Galatians 5:19-21, Romans 1:18-19, Colossians 3:5-9a, I Timothy 1:9-10. Therefore, I subscribe, without reservation, to TTI’s Statement of Faith and agree that anyone who is found to be engaging in behavior and practices contrary to biblical principles as interpreted and practiced by TTI shall be subject to appropriate discipline, which may include dismissal.
Active role in a Gospel-centered local church:
I believe it is essential for every believer to actively participate in a Gospel-centered local church as a demonstration of their faith and commitment to the body of Christ (Heb. 10:24-25; Eph. 4:11-16). The church serves as a place of worship, fellowship, discipleship, and outreach, where believers are equipped for service and encouraged in their spiritual growth. As a member of TTI, I recognize the importance of regularly attending and actively engaging in a local church that upholds biblical teachings and fosters a community dedicated to the proclamation of the Gospel (Acts 2:42-47; 1 Cor. 12:12-27). By investing myself in a Gospel-centered local church, I seek to honor God, fulfill the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20), and grow in my relationship with Christ alongside fellow believers.
Holy Living:
All of human existence has been deeply damaged by the Fall into sin (Gen. 3; Rom. 5:12). This damage extends to the mind, will, and affections of all. We are all sinners, broken in some measure by that Fall (Rom. 3:23). Nevertheless, God’s plan is for us to walk in holiness (Rom. 3:22; Col. 1:22; 1 Thess. 4:3-7). We are connected to God in only one way – by accepting the forgiveness and reconciliation God offers us by Christ’s life, death, and resurrection (Rom. 5:6-11; Eph. 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Gal. 3:26; John 10:29; 2 Tim. 1:12; Heb. 7:25, 10:10, 14; Peter 1:3-5). Because of our relationship with God, I will desire to repent of my sins and live a holy life, pleasing to Him (Eph. 5:8-10). I will also strive toward unburdened relationships with all those around me. As I become more like Christ this becomes more possible in my life (Col. 4:12-17).
Relating to Others:
I believe every person is to be treated with compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31; Col. 4:5-6). My approach to others should incorporate two key elements: truth and compassion (Eph. 4:15). Truth speaks to the content of my message and compassion addresses the manner in which it is conveyed (1 Peter 3:15). Christians who attempt to follow biblical mandates are not immune from sin, for “all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory” (Rom. 3:23). We must always be mindful of this and humbly relate to others accepting that we all are fallen creatures. Accordingly, I will refrain from hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individuals which are not in accord with Scripture or the TTI’s beliefs.
Marriage and Sexuality:I believe that marriage unites one biological male and one biological female in a lifetime commitment to each other. Marriage provides for intimate companionship, pure sexual expression, procreation, and reflects the relationship of Christ and the church. Further, I believe that God has commanded that no sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage (Gen. 1:27-28; 2:23-25; 19:5; 26:8-9, Matt. 19:4- 6. Eph. 5:31-33, Prov. 5:15-19, Deut. 22:5, Lev. 18:1-30, Rom. 1:26-29, 1 Cor. 5:1; 6:9; 7:1-5, 1 Thess. 4:1-8, Hebrews 13:4). Recognizing the damage the Fall has caused and the resulting sin and human brokenness in this world, one’s experience of their sex and gender may not always be as God originally designed. However, based on my biblical beliefs, any attempt to alter one’s birth gender dishonors God’s design (Gen. 1:27-28; 2:23-25; Matt. 19:5;). I believe God created human beings as biologically male and biologically female (Gen. 1:27). The complementary, relational nature of the human race reflects the created order given by God when He created human beings “in His image” (Gen. 1:26-27; 5:1, 3; 9:6; cf. Rom. 8:29; 2 Cor. 3:18; Eph. 4:23-24; Col. 3:10).
Sanctity of Life:
I believe all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life begins at conception and is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born, babies, the aged, the physically or mentally impaired, challenged or handicapped, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. I am therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life (Ps. 139:13-16).
Christian Dispute Resolution:
We believe that the Bible commands them to make every effort to live at peace and to resolve disputes with each other in private, or with the assistance of other believers in the Christian Church (see Matthew 18:15-20; I Corinthians 6:1-8), without reliance on the secular courts. Therefore, we agree that any claim or dispute arising from or related to this Statement of Faith or Bylaws not able to be settled internally will be settled by legally binding arbitration according to the Rules of Procedure for the Institute for Christian Conciliation (full Rules found at
https://www.aorhope.org/icc). We understand and agree that these methods of Christian arbitration will be the sole remedy for any controversy or claim arising out of or related to this Statement of Faith or Bylaws expressly waive their respective right to filing a lawsuit in a civil court against the other party or its agents for such dispute. Wake County, North Carolina will be the venue and North Carolina will be the jurisdiction. North Carolina law, subject to God’s law, will be used in all proceedings. Judgment on an arbitration decision may be entered in any court otherwise having jurisdiction and either party may use the civil courts to enforce an arbitration decision, or in the event of actual or threatened violations of provisions hereunder related to copyright or confidentiality, to obtain a temporary restraining order or other injunctive relief to compel compliance with and prevent breach of such provisions to prevent or minimize irreparable harm.
